Getting Others Involved
Would you like to volunteer for The Volunteer Family?
Some volunteers come to an event or read information from the TVF website and are so excited by the mission, they say, “We’re interested in volunteering directly for The Volunteer Family!”
If you share the spirit of our mission and goals, love serving others, and are interested in making it easier for families to learn about and experience volunteering as a family, we have many projects that you can help with!
Perhaps you are working on research for a class that you know would really help out The Volunteer Family. Or you have unique talents and ideas for other projects that would help families interested in volunteering. We are happy to work with creative, enthusiastic volunteers who would like to carry out ideas that match our needs!
Here are some projects we would love your help with (in no particular order)!
- Coordinate a Special Event for Families
- with your own friends or family
- for members of the community
- Invite friends or family to volunteer.
- Invite a non-profit to accept family volunteers.
- Share an experience you and your family have had volunteering together! (email info@thevolunteerfamily.org)
- Become a Reading Referee.
- Help expand our website.
- Share an inspiring volunteer story with us! Please email info@thevolunteerfamily.org.
The Volunteer Family is looking for families and other avid readers to become Reading Referees.
Read a good book lately? One that inspired you or gave you a different perspective or made you want to CHANGE something about the world around you or your local community? There are many great resources for families, and we do not know about all of them!
We need your help! We want to let other families know about your favorite volunteering books – those secret treasures that inspire, uplift, empower, raise awareness and help us become better people. TVF Reading Referees will read books (individually or as families) and recommend them to us (by filling out the following online form).
We are interested in finding books that are most valuable for families. Quality not quantity is the most important. (Though we won’t complain if you have both!)
If you find any books that seem to fit these descriptions, please email info@thevolunteerfamily.org
